1st of February - Imbolc (First Day of Spring) *

The beginning of the Light half,

when the fire of the Earth are rekindled.

 

21st of March - Eostara (Vernal Equinox) *

We get the name Eastrer from the Celtic word Eostara.

Eostara the Goddess of Fertility could change

herself from hare into a beautiful woman.

 

1st of May - Beltane (First Day of Summer) *

This is where we get the May pole from.The Celtics would dance

around the Yew tree to catch the beloved. The person they were to marry.

 

21st of June - Litha(Summer Soltice)

 

23rd of June - Mid Summer's Eve

 

1st of August - Lughnasah (The Harvest)

This is the Time of harvest and marriage from the Celtcs.

 

21st of September - Mabon (Autumnal Equinox)

When souls of the dead come back to visit from the otherworld.

Hence the Days of the Dead(All Souls Day).Also were Holloween came from.

The Celts would put on disquises to fool the dead souls. Also would carve out the

vegetables and light a candle inside them and place them in their door ways

to keep the departed souls out.

From this is where we get the carving of the pumkins and dressing up in costumes.
